English for Academic Purposes

All students take classes integrating in varying degrees (depending on the level) listening, speaking, reading, writing, and vocabulary development. The curriculum for each group represents the most effective procedures and materials for learning to function in English in an academic setting. Classes are oriented to helping students become more active and interested learners with the objective of using what is learned outside and after the program. A state-of-the-art language laboratory is used for listening comprehension, while computer assisted language learning is employed as well as other video-based language learning activities in the classrooms.

The EAP program is appropriate for any prospective undergraduate or graduate student who is seeking admission or is provisionally admitted to a college or a university. Students who have already been admitted can enroll in order to further improve their language abilities. This will help them excel in their subsequent academic programs. At the discretion of the director, a part-time program may be appropriate.
